Some lessons come with an invoice.

Fourteen years building a business will do that.

Building a business has taught me a few things. Some gently. Others with an invoice attached.

First: decide what progress actually looks like. “Work on my business” is an intention. Choosing one result and giving the next action a place in your calendar is a plan.

Second: stop expecting yourself to remember everything. Keep a follow-up list. Make the next step obvious. Build routines that still work on an ordinary Tuesday when the enthusiasm has worn off.

Third: take relationships seriously. Listen well, explain clearly, and follow through. Trust grows through the small things you keep doing.

I’m interested in the real conversations behind a business: the decisions, the mistakes, and the ambition that keeps someone going. That’s the idea behind Her Business, Unfiltered with Hiba.
